Description

When a tall, dark-haired, drop-dead–gorgeous new doctor strides through the doors of Strathlochan Hospital, pulses start racing—especially Dr. Annie Webster's! Five years ago she and Nathan Shepherd broke up, and she's never gotten over it.

Though they have very different recollections of their breakup, whatever the tensions between them, neither can deny the smoldering passion they still share.

It's clear to Nathan they have unfinished business, and this time he's not leaving without answers...or his woman!

About the Author

Encouraged by her parents who fostered her love of reading, Margaret McDonagh began losing herself in the magical world of books from a very young age. Books that influenced her include children's classics like the Anne of Green Gables series The Secret Garden to the pony books by the Pullein-Thompson sisters, the Jill books by Ruby Ferguson, the animal adventures by Willard Price, Enid Blyton's Famous Five and Secret Seven, and Helen Dore Boylston's Sue Barton series of nursing stories. Then came more grown-up books and the discovery of the wonderful Harlequin Mills & Boon romances! She read avidly but always knew that she had to write. Despite inevitable rejection letters, she pursued the dream for over twenty years, having numerous romance novellas, plus magazine short stories and serials published along the way.

The news that her first "proper book" had been accepted by Harlequin Mills & Boon for their Medical Romance line brought indescribable joy—a feeling that has never diminished! The Italian Doctor's Bride was published in the UK in October 2006 and received a Cataromance Reviewers' Choice Nomination. Her second book, A Doctor Worth Waiting For, won the Cataromance Award in 2007.

Since then, Margaret has gone on to develop a series of loosely-linked Medical Romances set in the fictional rural Scottish town of Strathlochan and the surrounding villages—creating a real sense of community. She is currently writing her eighth Strathlochan story which is due for release in June 2009. This will, in fact, be her tenth Medical Romance book as she took part in the Brides of Penhally Bay series set in Cornwall, one of the projects that marked Mills & Boon's magnificent one-hundredth birthday in 2008. Margaret wrote two titles for this successful series, Virgin Midwife, Playboy Doctor and Dr Devereux's Proposal, released in July and November 2008. Although she has never worked as a medical professional, Margaret has too much experience as a patient! Friends working in various health fields are extremely generous in providing any information she needs and answering her endless questions. Having a passion for learning makes researching an involving pleasure and she loves developing new characters, getting to know them and setting them challenges to overcome. The hardest part is saying goodbye to them because they become so real to her—one reason she so enjoys writing linked stories so she can keep in touch with favorite characters. And she always falls in love with her heroes!

Margaret was born and lives in the United Kingdom. Aside from writing and reading books, her hobbies include listening to music, debating current affairs and watching sports, especially football (soccer), athletics, golf and motor sports. She also has a passion for animals…she fosters an orphaned baby elephant in Kenya and an orphaned baby orangutan in Borneo, and she also sponsors a puppy training with Guide Dogs for the Blind. Margaret hates cooking, housework and hot weather but loves crisp autumn days, the countryside and Innocent smoothies.
